Yvette Reneé Wilson (born March 6, 1964 – died June 14, 2012) was a talented American comedian and actress. She was best known for playing Andell Wilkerson. This character was first the owner of a popular teen hangout on the TV show Moesha. Later, she became a restaurant owner and best friend to Nikki on the spin-off show The Parkers.
Yvette Wilson also appeared in several funny movies. These included House Party 3 and Friday. She also performed stand-up comedy on Russell Simmons' Def Comedy Jam. Yvette Wilson passed away at age 48 from cervical cancer.

Yvette Wilson's Early Life and Education
Before becoming famous, Yvette Wilson went to San Jose State University. She studied communications there. In 1991, she even appeared as a contestant on the game show Supermarket Sweep.
Yvette first tried comedy after losing a bet. She had to perform stand-up at a friend's club. She enjoyed it so much that she decided to become a comedian.

Starting with Thea and Movies
Yvette Wilson got her first big acting role in the TV show Thea. This comedy show aired from 1993 to 1994. Even though Thea only lasted for 19 episodes, it helped her get other roles.
After Thea, she appeared in the movie House Party 3. She also had a small part in the 1995 comedy film Friday. Yvette also acted in films like Poetic Justice, which starred Janet Jackson. She was also in the funny movie parody Don't Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood.
Becoming Andell Wilkerson on TV
In 1995, Yvette Wilson landed a very important role. She began playing Andell Wilkerson on the TV show Moesha. This show starred R&B singer Brandy Norwood, who was also in Thea. Yvette's character, Andell, owned "The Den," a popular spot for teenagers on the show.
In 2000, Yvette moved to The Parkers, a spin-off of Moesha. She continued to play Andell Wilkerson. On The Parkers, Andell was the best friend of Nikki Parker, played by Mo'Nique. After The Parkers ended, Yvette appeared on shows like HBO's Def Comedy Jam. Her last acting role was in the 2005 movie Ganked. She also started her own company called Tigobitties Inc.
Personal Life and Health Challenges
Yvette Wilson was married to record producer Jerome Harry. They were married from 2001 until her death in 2012. Yvette faced many health issues. She had kidney disease and even received a kidney transplant. She also needed regular dialysis treatments.
Sadly, Yvette later developed cervical cancer. The cancer spread throughout her body. A friend, Jeffrey Pittle, created a website to help raise money for her medical bills and travel costs. Yvette Wilson passed away on June 14, 2012, at the age of 48.
