Early Life and High School Basketball
Zed Key grew up in Bay Shore, New York. He went to Long Island Lutheran High School in Brookville, New York. His high school team was one of the best in the country. Zed played alongside André Curbelo, who later became a point guard for Illinois.
Winning a State Championship
In his junior year, Zed's team won the New York Class AA state championship. This was a big achievement for them! In his senior year, Zed was amazing on the court. He scored about 18 points and grabbed 8.7 rebounds per game.
Standout Games
Zed had some incredible games against strong teams. He scored 25 points against Sierra Canyon High School. He also scored 37 points when playing against The Patrick School. These games showed how skilled he was.
Choosing a College
Many colleges wanted Zed to play for them. He was considered a top player in New York. On September 22, 2019, Zed decided to join Ohio State. He chose Ohio State over other great teams like Florida and Wisconsin.
