Zehner is a small, unincorporated community located in the province of Saskatchewan, Canada. An "unincorporated community" means it's a place where people live, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. Instead, it's part of a larger area called the Rural Municipality of Edenwold No. 158.

This community is about 19 kilometers (12 miles) northeast of Regina, a major city in Saskatchewan. Zehner is also important because it's the main office for the Piapot First Nation band government. A famous actor named John Vernon was born in Zehner.

Zehner's History

The area where Zehner is located has a history that goes back many years. Early settlers established a post office here in 1901. At that time, it was known by a different name: Arat.

However, the name didn't stay Arat for long. In 1914, the community decided to change its name. It was officially renamed Zehner, which is the name it still uses today.
