Zelma is a small place in Indiana, a state in the United States. It is known as an unincorporated community. This means it does not have its own local government, like a city or town would. Instead, it is part of a larger area called Pleasant Run Township in Lawrence County.
The Story of Zelma
Zelma was officially started on May 23, 1890. Two people named Stephen and James Fountain planned out the community. They decided where the streets and building lots would be. The community was named after Zelma Fountain. She was the daughter of one of the early settlers in the area.
