Banijay Kids & Family is a French company that makes television shows for children all over the world. It is owned by a larger company called Banijay Entertainment. Before it got its current name, it was known as Zodiak Kids. The company is led by its CEO, Benoît Di Sabatino.
History of the Company
The story of Banijay Kids & Family involves many different companies coming together over the years. It started with a company called Marathon Media.
Early Years as Marathon Media
In 2006, a French animation company named Marathon Media joined with another company, Tele Images. Together, they formed a new, bigger company called Marathon Group. This made them one of the largest TV production groups in France.
A year later, in 2007, an Italian company called De Agostini bought the Marathon Group. In 2008, De Agostini also bought a Swedish company called Zodiak Television AB. They merged all these companies into one giant global company, which was renamed Zodiak Entertainment. Marathon Media became a part of this new, larger group.
Becoming Zodiak Kids
In February 2011, Zodiak Entertainment decided to bring all of its children's TV companies together. They created a new division just for kids' shows and called it Zodiak Kids. This new group included Marathon Media from France and other production companies from Great Britain.
In 2015, Zodiak Kids launched two YouTube channels, ZeeKay and ZeeKay Junior, to share its shows and create new online content.
Joining the Banijay Family
A big change happened in February 2016. Zodiak Media merged with another large company, Banijay Group. This created one of the world's biggest independent TV production companies. Zodiak Kids became the main children's division for Banijay.
In September 2018, Benoît Di Sabatino became the new CEO of Zodiak Kids.
Over the next few years, the company continued to grow. In 2021, it bought Monello Productions, a French animation studio. Finally, in November 2021, Banijay announced it was creating a new division called Banijay Kids & Family. This brought all its children's companies, including Zodiak Kids, under one new name.
In September 2022, Banijay Kids & Family bought two more companies: Kindle Entertainment from Great Britain and Movimenti Production from Italy. In 2024, it also bought a major stake in the French animation studio Procidis.

Procidis is a famous French animation studio founded in 1962 by Albert Barillé. It is well-known for creating educational animated series like Once Upon a Time... Man.
Tiger Aspect Kids & Family
This British company started in 2002 as the animation part of Tiger Aspect. It produces many popular animated and live-action children's shows.
Zodiak Kids & Family France
