Zoe Davis is a fun character from the Australian TV show Neighbours. She was played by actress Ally Fowler. Zoe first appeared on screen on January 20, 1986.
How Zoe Davis Was Created
After Neighbours became popular, the TV producers wanted to make the show even better. They decided to add new characters. Ally Fowler was chosen to play Zoe Davis. She had acted in another TV show called Sons and Daughters before this.
Ally Fowler was a bit worried about being in a long TV show. She didn't want to be tied to Neighbours for too many years. In May 1986, Ally decided to leave the show. Her character, Zoe, stayed on screen until September. The producers thought Zoe might come back later if Ally wanted to return.
Zoe Davis's Adventures
Zoe suddenly arrived in the town of Erinsborough. She wanted to see her old friend, Daphne Lawrence. Zoe had not spoken to Daphne for a long time. She quickly became friends with people like Shane Ramsay and Mike Young. She also met Jim Robinson.
When Zoe found out Daphne was marrying Des Clarke, she asked to move in with them. Zoe's actions sometimes annoyed other people like Max Ramsay and Paul Robinson. Daphne gave Zoe a job at the Coffee Shop. But Zoe lost the job because she bought too much champagne for a party.
Zoe then worked as a temporary secretary at the Daniels Corporation. She eventually got the job permanently. Des's old girlfriend, Andrea, and her son, Bradley, came to town. Zoe started to feel a bit jealous. She worried about her friendship with Des.
Zoe began dating Jim Robinson. Paul, Jim's son, worried that Zoe was only interested in Jim's money. Jim's daughter, Lucy, also did not like Zoe. Lucy was often rude to Zoe. Once, Lucy even poured water on Zoe. Lucy also made annoying phone calls. Zoe blew a whistle into the phone, which hurt Lucy's ear. After that, Lucy stopped bothering Zoe.
Des helped Zoe with her spending habits. Zoe had a habit of spending too much money on scratchcards. Des warned her about using her credit card too much. Paul also worried about Zoe's spending. Zoe even modeled for a Coffee Shop poster to earn extra money.
After a short trip, Zoe returned to Ramsay Street. She seemed much more grown-up. Zoe later had a health scare and lost her baby.
Zoe met her old boyfriend, Tony Chapman. They started dating again. Tony asked Zoe to work for him. But Zoe said she could not leave her job at the Daniels Corporation. Paul developed feelings for Zoe. But after Paul got upset, Zoe decided to leave and work for Tony.
Tony asked Zoe to marry him. Zoe told him she might not be able to have children. But Tony still wanted to be with her, and they got engaged. Zoe left Ramsay Street to live with Tony.
Zoe came back to visit Daphne when Daphne was in the hospital. Zoe also helped Susan Cole with her son, Sam. Des found out Zoe had another credit card and was spending too much. He helped her make a financial plan and told her to cut up her cards. Zoe then announced that Tony needed her back at work, and she left again.
