Çankaya University was started by a man named Sıtkı Alp. He already had a successful school for younger students called Arı Koleji. In 2011, the university opened a beautiful new campus called the Turkuaz campus. "Turkuaz" is the Turkish word for turquoise. This campus is very large and modern. It even won an award for its amazing architecture from the Arkitera Architecture Center. Many of the university's classes and departments moved to this new location.
