Amran (Arabic: عمران 'Amrān) is a governorate, which is like a large region or province, in the country of Yemen. It is located in the western part of Yemen. The main city in this area is also called 'Amran. In 2011, about 1,061,000 people lived in the 'Amran Governorate. It covers a total area of 9,587 square kilometers.
