Éverton Augusto de Barros Ribeiro, born on April 10, 1989, is a talented Brazilian football player. He plays as an attacking midfielder or winger for the club Bahia in Brazil's top league.

Éverton started his career at Corinthians. After a loan to São Caetano, he joined Coritiba in 2011. There, he helped his team win the Campeonato Paranaense championship twice. He then moved to Cruzeiro, where he won Brazil's top league, Série A, two times in a row. He was even named the best player in the league during those seasons!

In 2015, Éverton moved to the United Arab Emirates to play for Al-Ahli. He won several trophies there before returning to Brazil in 2017 to play for Flamengo. From 2014 to 2022, Éverton also played for the Brazilian national team. He represented his country in the Copa América tournaments in 2015 and 2021, and also in the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Club Career Highlights

Éverton Ribeiro was born in Arujá, Brazil, and grew up in Santa Isabel. He joined the youth team of Corinthians when he was just ten years old in 2001. He started as a left-back defender. In 2007, he joined the main team.

Playing for São Caetano

In 2008, Éverton was loaned to São Caetano. During his two years there, he changed his playing style and became an attacking midfielder. This new position suited him very well!

Success with Coritiba

Éverton returned to Corinthians in 2011, but soon moved to Coritiba for about R$1.5 million. He quickly made an impact, helping Coritiba win the Campeonato Paranaense in 2011. He even scored a goal in a 4–1 win against Roma Esporte Apucarana.

The next year, in 2012, Éverton scored five goals in 15 games as Coritiba won the championship again! In the final against Clube Atlético Paranaense, he scored a goal in the first game. A week later, he scored the winning goal in a penalty shootout, securing the title for his team. He was also one of Coritiba's top scorers in the Série A league that year, with eight goals.

Winning Big with Cruzeiro

In January 2013, Éverton joined Cruzeiro and signed a four-year contract. He became a very important player for Cruzeiro, especially alongside his teammate Ricardo Goulart. He was so good that he was chosen as the best player in Brazil's Série A league two years in a row! During this time, Cruzeiro won the league championship twice.

Adventures in Al-Ahli

After being linked to famous clubs like Manchester United and Real Madrid, Éverton decided to move to UAE Arabian Gulf League club Al-Ahli Dubai in February 2015. The transfer fee was reported to be around €15 million.

Just two days later, he played his first game for Al-Ahli and scored a goal in a 2–0 win. He won his first trophy with the club in March, the Arabian Gulf Super Cup. He scored 3 goals in 12 league games that season. He also scored 4 goals in 14 matches in the 2015 AFC Champions League, helping his team reach the final.

In August 2015, Éverton scored two goals and assisted two others in a huge 8–1 win for Al-Ahli. His team went on to win the league championship that season. Éverton said that winning the league proved his move to the team was a good choice.

Return to Brazil with Flamengo

On June 5, 2017, Éverton Ribeiro left Al-Ahli and returned to Brazilian football. He signed with Flamengo, who paid €6 million for him. His contract with Flamengo lasted until December 2023.

Joining Bahia

On January 6, 2024, Éverton Ribeiro signed a two-year contract with another Série A club, Bahia.

International Career

Éverton Ribeiro played for the Brazilian under-20 team before joining the main national team. He was first called up to the senior team in August 2014 by manager Dunga. He made his debut for Brazil in a friendly match against Colombia on September 5, 2014.

In May 2015, Éverton was chosen to play in the 2015 Copa América in Chile. In the quarter-final match against Paraguay, he came on as a substitute. The game ended in a 1–1 draw, and Brazil was eliminated after a penalty shootout where Éverton missed his shot.

On June 17, 2021, he scored his first goal for Brazil in a 4–0 win against Peru during the 2021 Copa América. In November 2022, Éverton was named in the squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
