Éverton Augusto de Barros Ribeiro (born April 10, 1989) is a Brazilian professional footballer. He plays as an attacking midfielder or winger. Currently, he plays for the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A club Bahia.
Éverton Ribeiro started his career at Corinthians. In 2011, he moved to Coritiba after a loan spell at São Caetano. He won the Campeonato Paranaense twice with Coritiba. Later, he won the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A twice with Cruzeiro, and was even named the best player each time!
In 2014, he joined Al-Ahli Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. He won several trophies there before returning to Brazil in 2017 to play for Flamengo. Éverton Ribeiro also played for the Brazilian national team from 2014 to 2022. He represented Brazil in the Copa América in 2015 and 2021, and also at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Éverton Ribeiro's Club Career
Starting at Corinthians
Éverton Ribeiro was born in Arujá, Brazil. He grew up in Santa Isabel, both in the state of São Paulo. He joined Corinthians' youth team in 2001 when he was ten years old. He started as a left-back.
In 2007, he joined the main team. He played in four matches that year. His team, Corinthians, was unfortunately moved down to a lower league.
Loan to São Caetano
On July 21, 2008, Éverton Ribeiro was loaned to São Caetano. During his two years there, he changed his position. He became a successful attacking midfielder.
Playing for Coritiba
Éverton Ribeiro went back to Corinthians in January 2011. But soon after, on February 21, he was sold to Coritiba. Coritiba paid about R$1.5 million for him.
He played eight games as Coritiba won the Campeonato Paranaense in 2011. He scored a goal in a 4–1 win against Roma Esporte Apucarana on April 17.
The next season, in 2012, Ribeiro scored five goals in 15 games. Coritiba won the title again. In the first game of the final against Clube Atlético Paranaense, he scored in a 2–2 draw. A week later, he scored the winning goal in a penalty shootout. This helped his team win the championship.
In 2012, Ribeiro was one of Coritiba's top scorers in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A. He scored eight goals.
Time at Cruzeiro
On January 8, 2013, Cruzeiro signed Éverton Ribeiro from Coritiba. He signed a four-year contract.
Ribeiro was a very important player for Cruzeiro for two years. He played alongside Ricardo Goulart. He was chosen as the best player in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A two years in a row. This was because his team won the championship twice!
Moving to Al-Ahli
Many big European clubs like Manchester United and Real Madrid were interested in Ribeiro. But on February 2, 2015, he moved to UAE Arabian Gulf League club Al-Ahli Dubai. The transfer fee was reportedly €15 million.
He played his first game for Al-Ahli two days later. He scored a goal in a 2–0 win. On March 27, he won his first trophy with the club, the Arabian Gulf Super Cup. He played 12 league games and scored 3 goals that season. In the 2015 AFC Champions League, he scored 4 goals in 14 matches. His team reached the final but lost by one goal.
On August 19, 2015, Ribeiro scored two goals in the first game of the new season. His team won the league that year. Ribeiro said that winning the league made his move to the team worthwhile.
Playing for Flamengo
On June 5, 2017, Éverton Ribeiro signed with Flamengo. Flamengo paid €6 million for him. He signed a contract that would last until 2021.
On December 13, 2019, Ribeiro extended his contract with Flamengo. He agreed to stay with the club until December 2023.
Joining Bahia
On January 6, 2024, Ribeiro signed a two-year contract with Bahia. Bahia is also a club in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A.
Éverton Ribeiro's International Career
Éverton Ribeiro played for the Brazil under-20 team. Then, on August 19, 2014, he was called up to the main Brazilian national team. This was for matches against Colombia and Ecuador.
He played his first game for Brazil on September 5, 2014. It was a friendly match against Colombia. He came on as a substitute in a 1–0 win.
On May 5, 2015, Ribeiro was chosen for the Copa América tournament in Chile. In the quarter-final against Paraguay, he came on as a substitute. The game ended in a 1–1 draw. Brazil was then eliminated after a penalty shootout, and Ribeiro missed his penalty.
On June 17, 2021, he scored his first goal for Brazil. It was in a 4–0 win against Peru during the 2021 Copa América.
On November 7, 2022, Ribeiro was named in the squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
