The Île de Batz (pronounced eel duh bah) is a small island located off the coast of Roscoff in Brittany, France. It is also known by its Breton name, Enez-Vaz.
This island is like a small town, called a commune, in the Finistère area of north-western France. It's a beautiful place to visit, known for its mild weather and interesting sights.
Island Climate
Île de Batz has an oceanic climate. This means it has mild temperatures all year round. It also gets a good amount of rain, which helps the plants grow.
The average temperature on the island is about 12 degrees Celsius (53.6°F) each year. It rains quite a bit, with December usually being the wettest month.
Temperatures are warmest in August, around 17 degrees Celsius (62.6°F). The coldest month is February, with temperatures around 7.7 degrees Celsius (45.9°F). The highest temperature ever recorded was 35 degrees Celsius (95°F) in August 1932. The lowest was -10 degrees Celsius (14°F) in February 1929 and December 1927.

The people who live on Île de Batz are called Batziens or Îliens in French.
According to a count in 1999, about 575 people lived on the island. By 2005, this number had grown slightly to an estimated 594 people. The most recent population count from 2021 shows about 449 residents.
