How the Tournament Works
The ÖFB Frauen Cup is played in five exciting rounds. A total of 32 teams get to play in the cup. Ten of these teams come from the top women's league, the ÖFB Frauen Bundesliga. The other 22 teams join from local football groups across Austria.
First Round Rules
In the first round, teams are usually matched up based on where they are located. This helps keep travel distances shorter at the start. Also, teams from the top league (the Frauenliga) cannot play against each other in this first round. After the first round, any team can be drawn to play against any other team, no matter where they are from.
