Úsobí is a small market town in the Czech Republic. It's located in the Vysočina Region. About 700 people live there. Úsobí is known as a "market town" because it used to be a place where people gathered to buy and sell goods.

Úsobí is found in the beautiful Křemešník Highlands. It's about 11 kilometers southwest of Havlíčkův Brod. The area has hills, with the highest one reaching 688 meters above sea level.

The first time Úsobí was mentioned in writing was in the year 1307. This means it's been around for a very long time! Later, in 1789, the village became a market town. This was an important step for the community.

The number of people living in Úsobí has changed a lot. In the late 1800s, over 1,400 people lived here. The population slowly went down over the years. Today, about 700 people call Úsobí home.

Local Economy

For over 200 years, Úsobí was famous for making glass. This tradition started way back in 1779. The first glass workshop was built near a pond. It was a very important part of the town's economy for a long time.

Getting Around

A major road, the D1 motorway, passes through the southern part of Úsobí. This motorway connects big cities like Prague and Brno. It makes it easy to travel to and from Úsobí.

The most important building in Úsobí is the Church of Saints Peter and Paul.

It was first built in the 13th century. That's over 700 years ago! The church was later rebuilt in a new style between 1759 and 1760. It's a beautiful example of old architecture.
