Łódź Voivodeship is one of the 16 main regions in Poland. These regions are called voivodeships. The capital city of this region is also named Łódź.
The Łódź Voivodeship is located in the central part of Poland. It covers an area of about 18,219 square kilometers. As of 2018, over 2.4 million people lived here. Most of the people live in cities, but many also live in the countryside.
Nature and Parks
Łódź Voivodeship has many beautiful natural areas. These places are protected to keep their plants and animals safe. There are seven special parks called Landscape Parks. They are great for exploring nature.

How the Region is Governed
The Łódź Voivodeship is managed by two main leaders. The first is the Voivode. This person is a representative of the national government. They make sure national laws are followed in the region.
The second leader is the Marshal. The Marshal is the head of the regional government. This government makes decisions about local issues. These include things like schools, roads, and hospitals.
The region is divided into smaller areas called counties. There are 3 city-counties and 21 land-counties. These smaller areas help manage local services.
Economy and Life
The economy of Łódź Voivodeship is quite strong. In 2014, the total value of goods and services produced was about €25 billion. This means the region creates a lot of wealth.
The Human Development Index (HDI) measures how well people live. It looks at things like health, education, and income. In 2017, Łódź Voivodeship had a very high HDI score of 0.853. This placed it as the 7th best region in Poland for human development.
The capital city, Łódź, is a major center for business and education. It has important universities like the Lodz University of Technology and the National Film School in Łódź. These institutions help train young people for future jobs.
