The film 12 O'Clock Boys is a documentary from 2013. It was directed by Lotfy Nathan. This movie is all about a group of dirt-bike riders in Baltimore, Maryland. They are known for doing amazing stunts on their bikes. The film also follows a young boy named Pug. He dreams of joining this famous group. The group is called "12 O'Clock Boys" because they can do a wheelie so high that their bike looks like the hands of a clock pointing straight up at 12 o'clock!
Making the Movie
The "12 O'Clock Boyz" group became well-known for their street rides in the early 2000s. Some members even recorded their stunts. For this documentary, the filmmakers followed Pug for several years. They started filming him when he was 11 years old.
The crew used special cameras to capture the action. One was a high-speed Phantom camera. This camera could film things very fast, so the footage could be slowed down to see every detail. They also used a Canon 7G camera. Sometimes, the film crew was strapped into the back of a truck to get close to the riders.
The movie also includes talks with members of the group. Pug's mother, Coco, also shares her thoughts. You will also see clips from local news and videos made by the "12 O'Clock Boyz" themselves.
Film Release
The movie 12 O'Clock Boys first showed at the South by Southwest festival in 2013. This is a big festival for films, music, and technology. Later that year, it also premiered in Baltimore at the Maryland Film Festival. A company called Oscilloscope Laboratories helped share the film with audiences across the U.S.
