Making it to the Playoffs
Because of their strong finish, the Washington Capitals won their division, called the Southeast Division. Winning the division meant they earned a spot in the Stanley Cup playoffs. This was a big achievement for the team and their fans. It meant they had a chance to compete for the Stanley Cup, which is the championship trophy of the NHL.

Capitals in the Playoffs
