The Regular Season
During the 2008–09 regular season, the Montreal Canadiens played many games. They were part of the Northeast Division in the NHL. Each game was important for the team to try and win. Their main goal was to play well enough to earn a spot in the playoffs.
Playoff Challenge
After the regular season, the Canadiens qualified for the playoffs. This is where the best teams compete for the championship. In the first round, called the Conference Quarter-Finals, the Canadiens played against the Boston Bruins. The Bruins won all four games in the series. This meant the Canadiens' playoff journey ended there.
