The 2017 Big East Conference Baseball Tournament was an exciting baseball competition. It took place at TD Ameritrade Park in Omaha, Nebraska. The games were played from May 25 to May 28, 2017. This tournament was held at the end of the regular baseball season for the Big East Conference. Its main goal was to find out which team was the best in the conference for the 2017 season. The team that won this tournament got a special spot in the bigger 2017 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament.

How the Tournament Worked
This baseball tournament had a special way of playing called a "double-elimination" format. This means a team had to lose two games before they were out of the competition. It's different from a regular knockout tournament where one loss sends you home.
Only the top four teams from the Big East Conference got to play. There were seven teams in the conference, but only the best four made it to this big event. This made every game very important!
Tournament Games and Results
The tournament was full of thrilling games as the four best teams battled it out. Each team hoped to win the championship and move on to the national tournament.
First Round Games
In the first round, the top-ranked team, Creighton, played against Seton Hall. Creighton won this game with a score of 4 to 1.
The other first-round game was between St. John's and Xavier. Xavier played very well and won with a score of 13 to 3.
Second Round and Comebacks
After the first games, teams continued to play. St. John's, even after losing their first game, came back strong. They beat Seton Hall 3 to 2 in a close game.
Xavier then faced Creighton in a big game. Xavier won again, with a score of 7 to 6, showing they were a strong contender.
St. John's kept their winning streak going. They played Creighton and won 10 to 2, earning their spot in the final game.
The Championship Game
The final game was between Xavier and St. John's. Both teams had played very well to reach this point. Xavier proved to be the strongest team in the tournament. They won the championship game with a score of 7 to 6. This victory made Xavier the 2017 Big East Conference Baseball Tournament champions!
