The 2022 Asian Games, also known as XIX Asiad, is a huge sports event. It will take place in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China. The games are planned from 10 to 25 September 2022.

The Asian Games are like the Olympics, but only for countries in Asia. Athletes from all over Asia come together to compete in many different sports. It's a time for friendly competition and for countries to show off their best athletes.

Hangzhou will be the third city in China to host the Asian Games. Before Hangzhou, the games were held in Beijing in 1990 and Guangzhou in 2010.

Choosing the Host City

Choosing a city to host a big event like the Asian Games is called the "bidding process." Cities interested in hosting present their plans to the Olympic Council of Asia.

In 2015, the Chinese Olympic Committee officially put forward Hangzhou as a candidate city. Hangzhou was the only city that wanted to host the 2022 games. This meant they were chosen without other cities competing against them.

This will be the third time China has hosted the Asian Games. It shows how much China loves sports and hosting big international events.

A lot of work goes into preparing for an event as big as the Asian Games. New stadiums and sports venues need to be built or updated.

For the 2022 Asian Games, 44 different places will be used for sports. Many of these places already exist in Hangzhou. Some are being built right now, and a few more are still being planned. The main stadium is the Hangzhou Sports Park Stadium.
