About the Hotel

This impressive building stands 127 meters (419 feet) tall. It has 39 floors, making it a very high building. Inside, there are 313 rooms for guests.

Special Features

40 Marsh Wall holds a special record. It is the tallest building in the United Kingdom that is used only as a hotel. It is also the tallest Novotel hotel anywhere in the world!

Building the Hotel

The construction of this tall hotel began in July 2014. It cost about £60 million to build.

Planning and History

Before construction could start, the project needed official permission. This permission was given in November 2010 by the Tower Hamlets Council.

The new hotel was built on a site that used to have a different building. This old building was a six-story office block. It was replaced to make way for the Novotel Canary Wharf.
