About the Accenture Tower
What is the Accenture Tower?
The Accenture Tower is a large building used for businesses and offices. It also has shops inside. It is a key part of the city's skyline.
Design and Construction
The building was designed by a famous architecture firm called Murphy/Jahn. They created it in a style known as "late modernist." Construction of the tower happened between 1984 and 1987.
The tower was built on a special type of land right called "air rights." This means they built above an existing area. In this case, it was above the old 1911 North Western Station. The building is directly connected to the train platforms of the Ogilvie Transportation Center. This makes it easy for people to get to work.
How the Tower Got Its Name
The Accenture Tower has had a few different names over the years. When it was first built, it was called the Northwestern Atrium Center. Later, it was known as the Citigroup Center.
On July 10, 2019, the building got its current name, Accenture Tower. This happened after a company called Accenture PLC made a big commitment to the building.
