99 West on South Temple, often called 99 West, is a tall building in Salt Lake City, Utah. It is a residential tower, meaning people live in its many apartments. This building is part of the larger City Creek development in Downtown Salt Lake City.

It was once known by other names like Promontory Tower. The building stands about 375 feet (114 meters) tall. This makes it the third-tallest building in Salt Lake City. It has 30 floors above ground. Construction finished in 2011, even before the City Creek shopping center officially opened. The tower contains 185 apartments, which are all owned by different people.

Building History

The skyscraper now known as 99 West was planned as part of the City Creek Center. However, it didn't have an official name for a while. The developers decided to build 99 West only after many apartments in other planned buildings had already sold.

Because of this plan, 99 West was one of the last buildings to be finished in the City Creek project. Even so, it was completed before the grand opening of the entire City Creek shopping center.

Design and Features

99 West on South Temple is 375 feet (114 meters) tall. It has a special brick design on its outside. This makes it stand out in the city. It is the third-tallest skyscraper in Salt Lake City.

Since it's located within the City Creek Center, 99 West is the tallest building in that area. This makes it a well-known landmark in Salt Lake City. Just like another building called The Regent, residents of 99 West can directly access the City Creek shopping center. They also have direct access to the underground parking garage.
