Associazione Calcio Ponte San Pietro Società Sportiva Dilettantistica, usually called Ponte San Pietro, is an Italian football club. It is located in the town of Ponte San Pietro. The club also represents the nearby towns of Terno d'Isola and Chignolo d'Isola in Lombardy. They currently play in Serie D, which is a high level of football in Italy.
Club History
Ponte San Pietro was founded in 1910. It started in Ponte San Pietro as Società Sportiva Vita Nota. In 1950, the club changed its name to Unione Sportiva Ponte San Pietro. The team even played one season in Serie B during 1947–48. Serie B is a very competitive league in Italy.
In 2007, the club joined with another team called F.C. Isola. F.C. Isola represented the towns of Terno d'Isola and Chignolo d'Isola. After this merger, the club was renamed Unione Sportiva Ponte San Pietro Isola. Later, it changed to its current name, Associazione Calcio Ponte San Pietro Società Sportiva Dilettantistica.
