What was AMP Business?
AMP Business was a daily TV show that helped people understand the world of business. It shared important news about companies and money. The show was half an hour long. It was a good way for viewers to start their day with updates on the economy.
How did the show change over time?
The show had many different names over the years. From 1997 to 2007, Michael Wilson was the host and also helped make the show. During this time, it was known by several names:
- Telstra Business
- TelstraSaturn Business
- TelstraClear Business
- Business
- ASB Business
In October 2007, Michael Wilson left the show and moved to TV3. This happened because he was not happy with changes to the show's time. The network decided to move the show from 6:30 AM to 6:00 AM. Michael Wilson felt it would be harder to get important people for interviews at the earlier time. He also felt that the decision was made without his ideas.
After Michael Wilson left, the show was called Breakfast Business. Later, NZI became a sponsor, and the show changed its name again. In 2011, AMP sponsored the show, and it became AMP Business.
The end of AMP Business
In early 2012, it was announced that AMP Business would not return. Instead, Nadine Chalmers-Ross, the host, started giving business updates. These updates were part of the main Breakfast morning show on TV One.
Who were the presenters?
Nadine Chalmers-Ross was the main host of AMP Business. Before her, Michael Wilson hosted the show for many years. Lisa Davies was also a back-up presenter for AMP Business.
