Amritpal Singh "AP" Dhillon is a popular singer, rapper, and music producer from Canada with roots in India. He is known for his amazing Punjabi music. Many of his songs have become super hits, topping music charts in places like the UK and even on Billboard. AP Dhillon works with his friends Gurinder Gill, Shinda Kahlon, and Gminxr as a team under their music label, Run-Up Records.

Growing Up

Amritpal Singh Dhillon was born in a small village called Mullianwal in Gurdaspur district, Punjab, India. He grew up in a Punjabi Sikh family. He went to Little Flower Convent School. Later, he studied Civil Engineering in Amritsar. Dhillon also got a diploma in Business Administration in Saanich, British Columbia, Canada. Before becoming a music star, he even worked briefly at a store called Best Buy.

Music Journey

AP Dhillon started his music career in 2019. His first song was "Fake" with Shinda Kahlon. They released it through their own music label, Run-Up Records. He also helped produce a song called "Faraar" for Gurinder Gill and Shinda Kahlon.

Big Hits in 2020

In 2020, AP Dhillon's song "Deadly" became very popular. It reached number 11 on the UK Asian chart. It also made it into the top 5 on the UK Punjabi chart. His next song, "Droptop" with Gurinder Gill, also did well on these charts.

In June 2020, he worked with Gurinder Gill and Manni Sandhu on a song called "Majhail". This song was a huge success! It hit number one on both the UK Asian and Punjabi charts. This was their biggest hit at the time.

Later in 2020, he and Gurinder Gill were featured in "Excuses" by Intense. This song reached number 3 on the UK Asian chart and topped the UK Punjabi chart.

"Brown Munde" Success

In September 2020, AP Dhillon released "Brown Munde" with Gurinder Gill, Gminxr, and Shinda Kahlon. Famous artists like Nav and Sidhu Moose Wala appeared in its music video. This song became incredibly popular. It was number one on the UK Asian chart and even entered the Apple Music chart in Canada.

Albums and Tours

In 2020, AP Dhillon released his first album, Not by Chance. He made this album with Gurinder Gill and Money Musik. All seven songs from this album were popular in New Zealand and reached the top five on the UK Punjabi Music chart.

In 2021, AP Dhillon and his team performed live for the first time. This was part of their "Over The Top – The Takeover Tour" in six big cities in India. He also worked with a brand called Boat. Later in 2021, he released another album called "Hidden Gems" with Gurinder Gill and Gminxr.

In 2022, AP Dhillon worked with Amazon Prime Video to promote the TV show The Boys (season 3). He created a special version of his song "Insane" for the show's trailer.

In 2023, AP Dhillon made history. He was the first Punjabi language artist to perform at the Juno Awards in Canada. He sang his hit song "Summer High" at the event.
