Early Life and Education

Amritpal Singh Dhillon grew up in a Punjabi Sikh family. He was born in a village called Mullianwal in the Gurdaspur district of Punjab, India. He went to Little Flower Convent School for his early education. Later, he studied Civil Engineering at Baba Kuma Singh Ji Engineering College in Amritsar.

After his engineering studies, Dhillon moved to Canada. There, he earned a diploma in Business Administration and Management from Camosun College in Saanich, British Columbia. Before becoming a full-time musician, he worked briefly at a store called Best Buy.

AP Dhillon began his music journey in 2019. His first song was "Fake," which he released with Shinda Kahlon. They launched it under their own independent music label, Run-Up Records. He also helped produce the song "Faraar" by Gurinder Gill and Shinda Kahlon.

Rising to Fame

In 2020, AP Dhillon's song "Deadly," made with producer Gminxr, became very popular. It reached number 11 on the UK Asian chart and was in the top 5 on the UK Punjabi chart. His next song, "Droptop," with Gurinder Gill, also appeared on these charts.

In June 2020, he worked with Gurinder Gill and Manni Sandhu on the song "Majhail." This song became a huge hit, topping both the UK Asian and Punjabi charts. In July 2020, he and Gurinder Gill were featured in "Excuses" by Intense, which also did very well.

"Brown Munde" Success

In September 2020, AP Dhillon released "Brown Munde" with Gurinder Gill, Gminxr, and Shinda Kahlon. This song featured famous artists like Nav and Sidhu Moose Wala in its music video. "Brown Munde" quickly became a number one hit on the UK Asian chart. As of February 2025, the music video for "Brown Munde" has been watched over 738 million times on YouTube.

Albums and Tours

In 2020, AP Dhillon released his first album, Not by Chance. He created this album with Gurinder Gill and Money Musik. All seven songs from this album were popular and appeared on music charts in New Zealand and the UK.
