Meet the Dolls and Their Worlds
A Girl for All Time makes two main types of dolls: Your Historical Girl and Your Modern Girl. Both types of dolls are 16 inches tall. They also have lots of doll outfits and other fun accessories. All the dolls are made of vinyl. Their arms and legs can bend at the elbows and knees, which makes them easy to pose.
Your Historical Girl Dolls
The Your Historical Girl collection has seven characters. This line tells the stories of the first-born girls in the fictional Marchmont family. Their adventures take place over 500 years, from Tudor England all the way to today.
- Matilda, Your Tudor Girl: She is the first character in the series. Matilda lives during the time of Henry VIII of England. She keeps a secret diary hidden in her trunk. This trunk and diary are then passed down to the first-born girl in each new generation of Marchmont women.
The other historical dolls include:
- Elinor, Your Elizabethan Girl: Her story happens in London at the end of Elizabeth I of England's rule.
- Lydia, Your Georgian Girl: Her story is set in Boston, Massachusetts. This is just before the American Revolutionary War began.
- Helena, Your Regency Girl: She lives in fancy Regency England.
- Amelia, Your Victorian Girl: Her story takes place in London in the 1880s.
- Clementine, Your 1940s Girl: Her story is set during the Blitz in London.
- Sam, Your 1960s Girl: She lives in Paris in the mid-1960s.
Each historical doll comes with a costume that looks like clothes from their time period. You can also buy extra outfits and accessories. Three of the characters even have books that tell their exciting stories.
Your Modern Girl Dolls
The Your Modern Girl collection is a newer line of dolls. These dolls are modern-day friends who all live in England. There are four dolls in this collection.
- Maya, Your Modern Girl: She was released in 2016. People helped fund her creation through a special online campaign called Kickstarter. Maya is a descendant of Matilda Marchmont, the Tudor doll!
- Nisha, Your Modern Girl: Also released in 2016, Nisha is Maya's best friend. She has both Eastern Indian and British heritage.
- Bex, Your Modern Girl: Released in 2018, Bex is Afro-Caribbean.
- Max, Your Modern Boy: Max is currently the only boy doll available from this brand.
Other accessories for the dolls include cute stuffed pets, tiny tea sets, more costumes, and even hairbrushes.
Books and Adventures
The company also offers a series of books for young readers. These books feature the Matilda, Amelia, and Clementine dolls. They are written by Sandra Goldbacher.
- Matilda's Secret (2011): Matilda Marchmont travels from the countryside to the Tudor court. She becomes a lady-in-waiting to the Queen. There, she becomes friends with her cousin, Katherine Howard. Katherine later becomes the fifth wife of Henry VIII.
- Matilda's Keepsakes & Secrets (2011): This is an activity book and scrapbook. It includes recipes, fun facts, and ideas for fashion and hair from the Tudor era.
- Amelia's Inheritance (2012): Thirteen-year-old Victorian schoolgirl Amelia Elliot becomes an orphan. She is sent to live with her uncle. Amelia makes new friends and travels through London. She tries to get back her inheritance, a secret trunk left to her by her Tudor ancestor, Matilda.
- Clementine's Winter (2015): When war breaks out, Clementine Harper and her two brothers move to the countryside. They want to escape the nightly air raids in London. While living with an interesting widow in Devon, Clementine becomes friends with Giesele. Giesele is a German-Jewish girl escaping the Nazis.
