Aberfoil is a small, quiet unincorporated community located in Bullock County, in the U.S. state of Alabama. Being "unincorporated" means it's not an official city or town with its own local government. Instead, it's part of the larger county. The main roads that go through Aberfoil are U.S. Route 29 and Alabama State Route 239.
History of Aberfoil
A post office was opened in Aberfoil in 1837. This office helped people send and receive mail. It stayed open for many years but eventually closed down in 1905.
The name "Aberfoil" likely came from a famous novel called Rob Roy. This book has a scene set in a place called Aberfoyle in Scotland. It seems someone liked the name and used it for this community in Alabama!
Population Facts
The U.S. Census keeps track of how many people live in different areas. However, Aberfoil has never been counted separately in the census. This means it doesn't have its own official population number listed from 1850 to 2010.
