The Abilene Bombers were a professional indoor football team. They played their home games in Abilene, Texas. Their home arena was the Taylor County Expo Center. The team was active from 2006 until 2013.

Team History: From Ruff Riders to Bombers
The team started playing in 2007. They were first known as the Katy Ruff Riders. At that time, they were part of the Intense Football League. Their original home games were played in Katy, Texas.
Moving to Abilene
After the 2008 season, the team moved. They relocated to Abilene, Texas. From 2009 onwards, they were called the Abilene Ruff Riders. In February 2010, a group of local owners bought the team.
Joining New Leagues
After their 2010 season, the team joined a new league. This was the Southern Indoor Football League. Then, after the 2011 season, they moved again. They became part of the Lone Star Football League.
Becoming the Abilene Bombers
On April 17, 2012, the team changed its name. They became the Abilene Bombers. They also got a new logo. The team was later owned by a company called BCPSA, LLC.
Playoff Appearance
In 2012, the Bombers played in the Lone Star Football League. They made it to the playoffs. Their record was 6 wins and 7 losses. However, they lost their playoff game. The Amarillo Venom beat them 70–40.
