Team History
The team started in 2007 as the Katy Ruff Riders. They were a new team, also called an "expansion team," in the Intense Football League. Their first home was the Leonard E. Merrell Center in Katy, Texas.
After the 2008 season, the team moved to Abilene, Texas. They changed their name to the Abilene Ruff Riders. In 2010, a local group bought the team.
The Abilene Ruff Riders then joined the Southern Indoor Football League in 2011. After that season, they moved to the Lone Star Football League. On April 17, 2012, the team changed its name and logo again, becoming the Abilene Bombers.
The Bombers were owned by BCPSA, LLC. In 2012, they played in the Lone Star Football League. They made it to the playoffs with a 6–7 win-loss record. However, they lost their playoff game to the Amarillo Venom with a score of 70–40. The team stopped playing after the 2013 season.
