Raymond Mikael Camino Abracosa (born December 2, 1990), known by his stage name Abra, is a Filipino rapper, hip-hop artist, and actor. He became famous for his hit song "Gayuma". The song's music video was a huge success, becoming the first by a Filipino artist to get over 26 million views on YouTube. As of 2025, it has reached an amazing 100 million views.
Before his music career took off, Abra was already a star in the FlipTop Battle League, a popular rap battle competition in the Philippines.

Early Life and School
Raymond Mikael Camino Abracosa was born in Pasig, Philippines. He grew up in a family where his father was a professor. He went to high school at Colegio San Agustin – Makati.
For college, he studied at the University of Asia and the Pacific and earned a degree in Management. By the time he was 23, he had already started his own record label called Artifice Records.
Music and Acting Career
Starting with Rap Battles
Abra's journey into the spotlight began in 2010. He joined the FlipTop Battle League, where rappers, also called "emcees," compete against each other using clever rhymes and wordplay. Abra quickly became known for his smart lyrics and fun style.
His rap battles became very popular online, with his videos getting millions of views. This helped him become one of the most respected battle emcees in the country.
Becoming a Music Star
While he was rap battling, Abra was also part of a hip-hop group called Lyrically Deranged Poets (LDP). The group released an album and even had a music video for their song Here to Own It play on the TV channel myx.
In 2013, Abra's solo career exploded with the release of his song "Gayuma". The song was a massive hit and made him a household name. That same year, he signed a deal with Ivory Music & Video and won an award for his YouTube channel, "Abra TV".
He released his first solo album, titled Abra, in 2014. He worked with many famous artists on his songs, including:

Besides music, Abra is also a talented actor. He has appeared in movies like Boy Pick-Up: The Movie and Kubot: The Aswang Chronicles.
His most famous role was in the 2017 film Respeto. He played Hendrix, a young rapper from a poor neighborhood. His performance was so good that he won the Best Actor award at the 41st Gawad Urian Awards, a very important film award in the Philippines.
