Ace Cider was one of the very first cider companies to open in the U.S. after a time called Prohibition. During Prohibition, it was against the law to make or sell alcohol.

In 1999, Ace Cider also opened the first modern pub in the U.S. that focused only on cider. This pub closed in 2010. However, the company still has a special room at their location where people can taste their ciders. Mr. House chose to set up his business in the Sonoma County area because it has a long history of growing apples. This area reminded him of his home country, England.
