Discovering Achyropappus
Imagine a big family tree of plants! Achyropappus is like a small branch on the huge daisy family tree. The daisy family, also known as Asteraceae, includes many plants you might know, like sunflowers, dandelions, and, of course, daisies! Plants in this family often have flowers that look like a single bloom, but are actually made up of many tiny flowers grouped together.
Different Kinds of Achyropappus
As of May 2023, the website Plants of the World Online recognizes three main types, or species, of Achyropappus:
- Achyropappus anthemoides Kunth
- Achyropappus depauperatus (S.F.Blake) B.L.Turner
- Achyropappus queretarensis B.L.Turner
These names might sound complicated, but they help scientists around the world know exactly which plant they are talking about!
