Likely distribution of Aciagrion |
Aciagrion is a group of small, thin damselflies. They belong to a family of insects called Coenagrionidae. These tiny creatures have small heads and are often called Slims because of their slender bodies.
You can find Aciagrion damselflies living near calm water, like swamps. They are found in many warm parts of the world, from Africa all the way through Indonesia to Australia.

What are Aciagrion Damselflies?
Aciagrion damselflies are known for being very small and having slim bodies. They are a type of insect that looks a lot like a dragonfly, but damselflies usually hold their wings together over their back when they are resting. Dragonflies, on the other hand, often hold their wings out flat.
These insects are an important part of their ecosystem. They often live near still water, which means water that doesn't flow much, like ponds or marshes.
Where Do They Live?
Aciagrion damselflies are found in many tropical areas around the world. Their home range stretches across a huge area. You can find them in parts of Africa, across Asia, including Indonesia, and even in Australia. This wide distribution shows how well they have adapted to different warm environments.
They prefer places with still water, which is perfect for laying their eggs and for their young (called nymphs) to grow.
