Acmispon parviflorus, also known as Lotus micranthus, is a type of legume. It is commonly called desert deervetch. This plant grows naturally in western North America. You can find it from British Columbia all the way down to southern California. It lives in many different kinds of places.
What is Desert Deervetch?
Desert deervetch is an annual herb. This means it lives for only one growing season. It can be either hairy or smooth. Its leaves are made up of several small, oval-shaped leaflets.
Flowers and Fruits
Small, pink, pea-like flowers grow by themselves where the leaves meet the stem. These flowers are very delicate and do not last long. After the flower, a narrow, smooth, and wavy seed pod grows. This pod can be up to about 2.5 centimeters long. It is a type of legume pod, like a pea pod.
