Ada Gentile (born on July 26, 1947) is a talented Italian pianist and composer. She has taught music at the Rome Conservatory. She also helped lead many music groups and festivals, like Nuovi Spazi Musicali in Rome and the opera house in Ascoli Piceno. Her music has been played all over the world. In 1988, Poland's Ministry of Culture honored her for her work in culture. She also received a special award from the Italian Republic called the Cavaliere al merito.

About Ada Gentile's Life

Ada Gentile was born in Avezzano, Italy. She studied piano and composition at the Conservatorio di St. Cecilia in Rome. After that, she earned a special degree in composition from the Accademia di Santa Cecilia, where she studied with Goffredo Petrassi.

Ada Gentile won several important international music competitions. These included the Gaudeamus competition in 1982, the ISCM competition in Budapest in 1986, and another ISCM competition in Essen in 1995.

She has given talks and lectures at many famous universities around the world. In the United States, she visited Northwestern University, Juilliard School, Wayne State University, Columbia University, the University of Chicago, and the University of California, Berkeley. She also lectured widely in Europe and Asia.

From 1999 to 2005, she was the Deputy Director of the St. Cecilia Conservatory. She played a big part in organizing many music festivals. She was an advisor for the Venice Biennale Festival from 1993 to 1997. She also served as the artistic director for Nuovi Spazi Musicali in Rome, the Goffredo Petrassi Chamber Orchestra in Rome, and the opera house in Ascoli Piceno. Since 1978, she has taught at the Rome Conservatory.

Her musical pieces have been performed in many countries around the world.

In 1988, the Polish Ministry of Culture recognized Ada Gentile for her important contributions to culture.
