Adam Hollingsworth's Career
Immediately before becoming Chief of Staff for Governor Scott, Adam Hollingsworth was the CEO of Parallel Infrastructure. This company is part of Flagler Development. Flagler is a real estate development company. It owns many properties and buildings in cities like Jacksonville, Orlando, Fort Lauderdale, and Miami.
Connection to Brightline Trains
Flagler's parent company, Fortress Investment Group, also owns Florida East Coast Railway. This railway provides freight train service along the coast from Jacksonville to Miami. In 2014, a related company, All Aboard Florida, wanted to build Brightline. This would be a faster passenger train service between Orlando and Miami.
The plan involved the state of Florida helping to pay for a new transportation center at the Orlando airport. This center would be the main stop for the train service. However, many local governments in areas north of Palm Beach County were against this plan. The train would pass through their communities but not stop there.
Because Adam Hollingsworth had worked for Flagler, and then became the governor's top assistant, some people wondered about possible conflicts of interest. They wanted to make sure that decisions about the Brightline plan were fair and not influenced by his past work.
Other Work Experience

This agency helps with economic development in Florida. On his application, he stated he graduated from the University of Alabama in 1990. However, he actually earned his degree in 2009.
