Adam Kokesh announced his plan to run for president in 2013. This made him the first person from the Libertarian Party to announce their interest in the 2020 United States presidential election.
In the fall of 2017, Kokesh went on a national tour called Taxation Is Theft. During this tour, he shared his ideas about voluntaryism. His main message was "Nobody for President!"
On January 16, 2018, Kokesh officially submitted the paperwork to start his presidential campaign.
