Adam Tomek Sarota (born on December 28, 1988) is an Australian soccer player. He plays as a central midfielder, which means he helps both defend and attack in the middle of the field.

Adam Sarota's Soccer Journey

Adam Sarota has had an exciting career playing soccer for different teams. He started in Australia, then moved to play in Europe, and also represented his country.

Playing for Clubs

Starting with Brisbane Roar

Adam first became well-known when he was named the National Youth League Player of the Year for the 2008–2009 season. This award showed he was one of the best young players in Australia. Because he played so well for the Brisbane Roar youth team, he earned a spot on their main team. He made his first big game appearance for Brisbane Roar in November 2008 against the Newcastle Jets.

Playing in Europe with Utrecht

In April 2010, Adam moved to the Netherlands to play for a team called Utrecht. He joined two of his teammates from Brisbane Roar, Michael Zullo and Tommy Oar, in this big move. Playing in Europe is a dream for many soccer players. Adam played his first game for Utrecht in July 2010 in a major European competition called the UEFA Europa League.

Back to Brisbane Roar (Loan)

In September 2014, Adam returned to Brisbane Roar for a season. This was a "loan" move, which means he temporarily played for Brisbane Roar while still being officially part of his European club, Utrecht. This helped Brisbane Roar have more players ready for different positions.

Playing for Australia

Adam also had the chance to play for his country, Australia. His father is from Poland, so there was a possibility he could have played for the Polish national team. However, Adam really wanted to play for Australia's national team, known as the Socceroos.

He got his first call-up to the Socceroos in March 2011 for a friendly game against Germany. A friendly game is one that doesn't count for points in a competition. Adam made his official debut for Australia in August 2011. He came on as a substitute in a game where Australia won against Wales.

Sadly, in 2016, Adam got a serious knee and ankle injury. This kept him from playing for over a year. After this long recovery, he decided to stop playing professional soccer.
