Addisyn Jade Merrick, born on March 4, 1998, is an American professional soccer player. She plays as a defender for the USL Super League club Carolina Ascent. A defender is a player whose main job is to stop the other team from scoring goals. Before becoming a professional, she played college soccer for the Kansas Jayhawks. She also played for other teams like the North Carolina Courage, Racing Louisville, Kansas City Current, and Utah Royals in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL).

Starting Her Journey
Addisyn began her professional career with the North Carolina Courage. She made her first appearance on June 27, 2020. This was during a special tournament called the 2020 NWSL Challenge Cup. Her debut game was against Portland Thorns FC.
Moving to Racing Louisville
On November 12, 2020, Addisyn was chosen by Racing Louisville FC. This happened during the 2020 NWSL Expansion Draft, which is when new teams pick players. She played her first game for Racing Louisville on June 23, 2021. Unfortunately, she had an ankle injury after only three matches.
Addisyn worked hard to get back to full health. She was ready for the 2022 NWSL Challenge Cup. She started the first five games of that competition. She also started two regular season games for Racing Louisville. One of these starts helped her team win against San Diego.
Joining Kansas City Current
Addisyn was traded to the Kansas City Current on June 9, 2022. Another player, Cece Kizer, also joined the team with her. Addisyn made her debut for Kansas City on June 11, 2022. She came into the game as a substitute in the 61st minute. Her first time starting a game for the Current was on July 10, 2022, against the Washington Spirit.
Time with Utah Royals
In December 2023, Addisyn signed with the Utah Royals. She played for them for about nine months. She and the Utah Royals team decided to part ways in September 2024.
Playing for Carolina Ascent
On September 5, 2024, Addisyn Merrick signed with Carolina Ascent FC. This team is part of the USL Super League. She continues to play as a defender for them.
