Adel Abbas Tamano (born October 2, 1970) is a well-known Filipino lawyer and educator. He currently works as the Chief Administrative Officer, Chief of Human Resources, and Corporate Secretary for DITO Telecommunity Corporation. He became widely known in 2007 as the spokesperson for the United Opposition political party. He was also a candidate for senator in 2010.

Early Life and Schooling
Adel Tamano was born in Manila, Philippines, on October 2, 1970. His father was Senator Mamintal A.J. Tamano, and his mother was Hadja Putri Zorayda Abbas Tamano, a community leader. Adel was their eighth child.
Tamano's College Degrees
Tamano began his college studies at The Ateneo de Manila University. He earned a degree in Economics there. Later, he continued his education and earned several more degrees. He received a Juris Doctor degree, which is a law degree, also from the Ateneo de Manila University.
He then earned a Master's degree in Public Administration from the University of the Philippines in 2003. In 2005, he completed a Master of Laws degree from Harvard Law School in the United States.
Professional Career
Adel Tamano gained practical experience in law by working with the respected lawyer Estelito P. Mendoza. After this, he worked as an associate lawyer at several law firms. In 2004, he decided to open his own law firm.
Working in Education
Tamano has also worked as a teacher and leader in schools and universities. From 2011 to 2012, he was the Dean of the College of Law at Liceo de Cagayan University in Cagayan de Oro. Before that, he served as the University President of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila from 2007 to 2009.
Joining the Corporate World
In 2011, Tamano started working in the business world. He became the Vice President for Public Affairs and Communications for Coca-Cola Philippines.
In 2019, he took on a big role at DITO Telecommunity Corporation. He became their Chief Administrative Officer, Chief of Human Resources, and Corporate Secretary. Under his leadership, DITO Telecommunity has been growing in the challenging Philippine market.
Career Highlights
Tamano played a key role in the launch of DITO Telecommunity. He led the company through the process of bidding to become the third major telecommunications company in the Philippines. He also oversaw its setup and official start of services.
He has held important government positions. He was the University President of the University of the City of Manila from 2007 to 2009. He also served as the General Counsel for the Philippine Senate's Committee on Justice from 2007 to 2008.
Media Work
Besides his work as a lawyer, in business, and in education, Adel Tamano has also been active in the media. He used to write a column for The Philippine Star newspaper. He also had his own show called “Tamano Perspective” on ANC.
Personal Life
Adel Tamano is married to Atty. Rowena Kapunan. They have two sons together.
