Adina Marie Howard (born November 14, 1973) is an American singer and songwriter. She became famous in the mid-1990s with her first album, Do You Wanna Ride?. Her debut single, "... like Me," was a major hit. Some of her other well-known songs include "What's Love Got to Do with It?" with Warren G and "... & ..." with Jamie Foxx.

Early Life
Adina Marie Howard was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She was raised by her mother along with her three younger sisters. As a child, she looked up to the singer Madonna, who was also from Michigan. Later, her family moved to Phoenix, Arizona.
In the mid-1990s, a manager named Livio Harris noticed her talent. He helped her record demo songs. These demos led to her getting a record deal with Mecca Don/EastWest Records.
Music Career
Breakthrough Success
In 1995, Howard released her first album, Do You Wanna Ride?. It was very successful and was certified Gold by the RIAA. The album's lead single, "... like Me," was a huge hit and was certified Platinum. She also had other popular songs from the album, like "My Up and Down" and "It's All About You."
In 1996, she worked with rapper Warren G on the song "What's Love Got to Do with It". The song was for the movie Police Story 3: Super Cop. It became another hit for both artists and was very popular in the United Kingdom. The music video for the song even featured actor Jackie Chan.
Later Albums and Projects
Howard's second album, Welcome to Fantasy Island, was planned for release in 1997. The lead single, "(...) And U Know It," was a moderate hit. However, the album was not released by the record company at that time. It was finally released to the public many years later, in 2021.
In 2004, Howard released her third album, The Second Coming. The album's first single was "... Grind." Later that year, she was featured on the song "..." by Play-N-Skillz and Krayzie Bone. The song used a sample from her hit "... like Me" and became a chart success.
Her fourth album, Private Show, came out in 2007. After this, she took some time to explore other interests.
Return to Music and New Ventures
In 2011, Howard decided to study cooking and earned a degree in Culinary Arts. She also continued to work on new music. In 2013, she released a new single called "Switch," which won an award for Best Dance/Club Single of the Year at the UB Honors.
Her fifth studio album, Resurrection, was released in 2017. One of the songs, "Blasphemy," had a music video. The album received positive attention.
In 2020, she released a dance single called "Mind Reader" with the artist Opolopo. The song was very popular and reached #1 on the TraxSource music chart.
In 2023, Howard launched her own brand of wine called “Indelible” in partnership with a winery. She continues to record and release new music for her fans.
