The very first version of this software was called Adobe Premiere. It was created by Adobe Inc. in 1991. Premiere was one of the first programs that let people edit videos on a computer. This is called "non-linear editing." It means you can jump to any part of your video to edit it. You don't have to edit it in order from start to finish.
The first Premiere program came out for Apple Mac computers in 1991. It came out for Microsoft Windows computers in 1993. The last version of the original Premiere was 6.5. It was released in 2002. After that, Adobe made a brand new program called Adobe Premiere Pro.
