Adonijah Reid (born August 13, 1999) is a Canadian soccer player. He plays as a forward for York United FC in the Canadian Premier League.

Early Life and Soccer Dreams
Adonijah Reid started playing youth soccer in 2005 with Caledon SC. Later, he joined the ANB Futbol Academy. He played there for six years, learning many important skills.
In 2014 and 2015, Adonijah had a chance to try out for big French soccer clubs. These included OGC Nice and Lyon. He also tried out for teams in Italy and Spain. However, he couldn't stay in Europe because he was not a European citizen.
Playing for Clubs
Starting Strong in Canada
In 2015, when he was just 16, Adonijah played for ANB Futbol in League1 Ontario. This is a top soccer league in Ontario, Canada. He scored 20 goals in 20 games that season. This made him the league's top goal scorer! He also won the Young Player of the Year award. Plus, he was named a First Team All-Star.
Joining Major League Soccer
In January 2017, Adonijah signed a special contract with Major League Soccer (MLS). This contract helps young, talented players. He was then picked by FC Dallas in the MLS SuperDraft. This is like a draft for new players in professional sports.
During practice games in 2017, he even scored a goal against a famous team, River Plate. But because he was under 18, he couldn't play in official games for Dallas. This was due to international soccer rules.
Playing on Loan with Ottawa Fury
In July 2017, Adonijah went on loan to Ottawa Fury FC. This team played in the USL Championship, another professional league. He played his first professional game on July 29, 2017. He scored his first professional goal on August 12, 2017.
In March 2018, he returned to Ottawa for another loan period. On June 24, 2018, Adonijah scored three goals in one game! This is called a "hat trick." This amazing performance earned him the USL Player of the Week award. By the end of 2018, he was named one of the top 20 players under 20 in the USL. He scored five goals in 41 games for Ottawa.
Moving to France and Back to North America
In January 2019, Adonijah signed with a French team, Le Havre AC. He played for their second team, Le Havre II. This team competes in a league called the Championnat National 2.
In January 2021, Adonijah came back to North America. He signed with Miami FC in the USL Championship. He scored his first goal for them in May 2021. In October 2021, he scored two goals in one game.
In January 2023, he joined Pacific FC in the Canadian Premier League. He played his first game for them in April 2023.
Joining York United FC
In January 2025, Adonijah signed with York United FC. He will play for them in the 2025 season.
Playing for Canada
Early International Experience
In 2011, Adonijah played for Eastern Canada in the Danone Cup qualifiers. His team won and went to an international tournament for players under 12. Canada finished sixth, and Adonijah scored a goal against England.
He also joined identification camps for the Canada U-15 national team in 2014. He continued to attend camps for Canada's U15 and U18 teams.
Representing Canada's Youth Teams
In January 2018, he was called to a Canada U23 camp. This was to prepare for the 2020 Summer Olympics qualifiers. Adonijah was also part of the Canadian U20 team. He played in the 2018 CONCACAF U-20 Championship.
On November 4, 2018, he scored his first international goal for Canada. It was the winning goal in a 2-1 victory against Guadeloupe.
Adonijah can also play for the Jamaica team. This is because his parents are from Jamaica.
