Adrian McAdam was born on 12 March 1971. He is a former Australian rules football player. He played for the North Melbourne Kangaroos in the Australian Football League (AFL). He also played for North Adelaide in the SANFL during the early 1990s.

Adrian McAdam's Early Life

Adrian McAdam is an Indigenous Australian man. Before joining North Melbourne, he played in the Northern Territory Football League. He played for the Southern Districts team. His older brother, Gilbert McAdam, also played for this club. Adrian also led the Northern Territory team as captain in the Teal Cup.

AFL Career Highlights

Amazing Start at North Melbourne

In 1993, Adrian McAdam joined the North Melbourne team. He played alongside famous players like John Longmire and Wayne Carey. In his very first game, he kicked 7 goals! This was a record for a North Melbourne player on debut.

He continued his amazing start the next week. He kicked 10 goals against Sydney. Then, he kicked 6 goals against Footscray. This meant he scored 23 goals in his first three AFL games. This is still a record today! He finished that year with 68 goals from 17 games.

Later Years in AFL

Adrian found it hard to repeat his amazing performance in 1994. In 1995, he played only one game. After this, his time in the AFL came to an end. He played a total of 36 AFL games.

He later joined the Collingwood Magpies for the 1996 season. However, he did not play any games for them before leaving the team.

Cricket After Football

After his football career, Adrian McAdam started playing cricket. In 2003, he played for the Northern Territory Chief Minister's XI team. This team was led by famous cricketer Michael Clarke. They played a three-day match against the Bangladesh team. Adrian was a fast bowler. He took the wickets of three top Bangladeshi players: Habibul Bashar, Mohammad Ashraful, and Javed Omar.
