Advance is a small, quiet place in Wisconsin, United States. It's called an "unincorporated community," which means it's not a city or town with its own local government. Instead, it's part of a larger area called Green Valley in Shawano County. You can find Advance where two county roads, C and E, meet. It's about 6 miles (10 km) southeast of a town called Cecil.

A Look Back in Time
Advance has a bit of history, even though it's a small place.
Past Buildings and Community Life
Years ago, Advance had its own post office. This was a place where people could send and receive mail. The community also had a school, known as the Advance School. After a while, this school building was changed and used as the town hall. A town hall is where local government meetings happen.
In 2003, the old town hall got another new purpose. It was turned into a community center. This means it became a place for everyone in Advance to gather. The new community center also included a park. This park had a playground for kids and a baseball field for sports.
Population in Advance
In 2004, about 50 people lived in Advance. This shows it has always been a very small community.
