Biography
Early Life
Afef Jnifen was born in 1963 in Ben Gardane, Tunisia. Her father, Mohamed Jnifen, was a former ambassador for Tunisia. He worked in many countries, including Libya, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia. Her mother, Saida Benina, has Turkish roots.
Modeling Career
Afef's journey into modeling began when she was discovered by a photographer named Jean-Paul Goude. He saw her on a beach in the Bahamas during a photo shoot. Goude immediately included her in the ad. He also suggested she go to Paris and meet the famous designer Azzedine Alaïa.
Soon, Afef became a favorite model for many top European designers. She traveled between Milan and Paris, working for big names like Armani, Fendi, Jean Paul Gaultier, and Roberto Cavalli. Her modeling career has lasted for over thirty years. She has also represented major international brands like L'Oréal.
Television Work
Afef Jnifen became well-known in Italy through television. In 1982, she was a hostess on the TV show Maurizio Costanzo Show on Canale 5.
She went on to host other popular programs:
- Quelli che... il calcio in 1993 on Rai 3.
- Scommettiamo che.... in 1999 with Fabrizio Frizzi on Rai 1.
