Agustín del Castillo was born in a city called Seville in Spain. He had an older brother, Juan del Castillo, who was also a painter. Both brothers learned how to paint from a teacher named Luis Fernández in Seville.
His Art and Legacy
Later, Agustín moved to another Spanish city called Córdoba, Spain. There, he created many religious artworks. He painted frescoes, which are special paintings done on wet plaster walls. He also made oil paintings. Sadly, many of his artworks have been lost over time.
Agustín del Castillo passed away in Córdoba, Spain. His son, named Antonio, also grew up to become a famous artist.
