Aida Turturro (born September 25, 1962) is an American actress. She is best known for her role as Janice Soprano in the popular HBO drama series The Sopranos.

Early Life and School
Aida Turturro was born in Buffalo, New York. Her mother, Dorothy, was a nurse, and her father, Domenick, was an artist.
After finishing high school, Aida went to the State University of New York at New Paltz. She earned a degree in theatre there.
Acting Career
Aida Turturro started her acting career in 1989 with her first film, True Love. She has appeared in many movies, including What About Bob?, Jersey Girl, and Illuminata. She also had small parts in films like Sleepers and Deep Blue Sea.
Aida is most famous for her role as Janice Soprano in the TV show The Sopranos. She played this character from 2000 to 2007. Her acting in the show earned her two nominations for a special award called the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.
After The Sopranos, Aida appeared in other TV shows. She was in an episode of Medium in 2009. She also appeared in Curb Your Enthusiasm and Nurse Jackie, where she worked again with her Sopranos co-star Edie Falco.
Since 2013, Aida has often played Judge Felicia Catano in the TV series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. She also appeared in Brooklyn Nine-Nine in 2016 and Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders in 2017.
