How This Awesome Airshow Started
The Airshow of the Cascades began a long time ago. It started in the late 1970s. Back then, it was held in a big field. This field belonged to a rancher named Ron Ochs. It was just outside of Madras, Oregon.
In the year 2000, the airshow moved. It found a new home at the Madras Municipal Airport. This airport is a great place for planes.
Planes from the Erickson Collection
In 2014, something special happened. Planes from the Erickson Aircraft Collection joined the show. This collection is a group of amazing old airplanes. A new museum opened at the Madras Airport to keep these planes. Now, visitors can see them at the airshow.
A Year Without the Show
The Airshow of the Cascades usually happens every year. However, there was no airshow in 2020. It was a unique situation.
