How the Airshow Started
The Airshow of the Cascades began a long time ago, in the late 1970s. It first took place in a large field. This field belonged to a rancher named Ron Ochs, near the town of Madras.
In the year 2000, the airshow moved to its current home. This new location was the Madras Municipal Airport. This airport offers more space for the planes and visitors.
Planes from the Erickson Aircraft Collection
In 2014, something special happened. A new museum opened at the Madras Airport. This museum houses the Erickson Aircraft Collection. These amazing planes then became a part of the airshow.
The Erickson Aircraft Collection includes many historic aircraft. Seeing them fly or on display is a highlight for many visitors.
A Brief Pause
There was one year, 2020, when the airshow did not happen. But it has continued to be an annual tradition since then.
