Aitor González Jiménez (born 27 February 1975) is a Spanish former professional road bicycle racer. He rode bikes professionally from 1998 to 2005. Aitor is best known for winning the 2002 Vuelta a España, which is one of cycling's biggest races.

Aitor González was born in Zumárraga, a town in Spain. He started his professional cycling career in 1998. He quickly became known for his strong riding skills.
Early Career and Big Wins
In 2002, Aitor had a fantastic year. He won the 2002 Vuelta a España, a major cycling race that takes place in Spain. During this race, he also won three individual stages. A stage is a single day's race within a longer event.
He also showed his talent in the 2002 Giro d'Italia, another famous Grand Tour race held in Italy. There, he won two stages. The next year, in 2003, he won another stage at the Giro d'Italia.
Grand Tour Success
Aitor continued his success in 2004 by winning a stage at the 2004 Tour de France. This is the most famous cycling race in the world. Winning a stage in all three Grand Tours (Giro d'Italia, Tour de France, and Vuelta a España) is a big achievement for any cyclist.
In 2005, Aitor won the 2005 Tour de Suisse, a well-known stage race in Switzerland. He retired from professional cycling in January 2006.
