Aitor González Jiménez (born February 27, 1975) is a Spanish former professional road bicycle racer. He competed as a professional from 1998 to 2005. He is most famous for winning the 2002 Vuelta a España, one of cycling's biggest races.

Aitor González: A Cycling Champion
Aitor González was born in Zumárraga, a town in Gipuzkoa, Spain. He started his professional cycling career in 1998 with the Avianca–Telecom team.
Winning the Vuelta a España
His biggest victory came in 2002 when he won the 2002 Vuelta a España. This is a major cycling event, similar to the Tour de France. During this race, he also won three individual stages. A stage is one day's race within a longer tour.
After his big win at the Vuelta, Aitor joined a new team, Fassa Bortolo. He continued to show his talent by winning more stages in other important races.
